It is very hard believe that I haven't been to Fairchild since September 2021! How can that be? Aside from my fall trip last October, I hadn't picked up my camera since December 2021! I decided to take advantage of our "coolish" weather today and headed out. I arrived to the gardens when they opened at 10 am and it was in the upper 60's. About 3 hours later it was in the upper 70's and although that is still a lovely temperature for Miami, I had walked 4.6 miles and was getting hot and tired.
Sadly, my two favorite lily ponds had no blooms and I had to get creative as to what I was going to shoot. I mean, I could literally spend hours sitting at the ponds. I did find a few small lily flowers in a couple of other spots, so all is not lost. Today I was mainly looking for details, light, patterns and textures. I didn't see as many birds or iguanas that I would have expected to on such a nice day. The baby birds you will see via the link below are Egyptian Geese and not to worry, mom and dad were nearby.
