Super Pink Moon

April 26, 2021  •  1 Comment

This is the first of three supermoons in 2021. This full moon is named the pink moon to correspond with the early springtime blooms of certain wildflowers native to eastern North America called Phlox Subulata or creeping phlox or moss phlox. Because of this seasonal association, this full moon came to be called the "pink" moon.

The first photo below shows the moon rising over my neighbor's house. I purposely overexposed the moon in the second photo to show the cloud movement in the sky. It was really beautiful to watch. I zoomed in a captured some clouds passing by the bottom of the full moon in the third picture. Lastly, you get the full supermoon. These are all hand held. Hope you enjoy these images or maybe you had the chance to see the super moon tonight for yourself.
