We had a bad day of storms here yesterday and even lost power a few times. It was still gray and rainy this morning, so I went outside to pick up some branches and palm fronds and refilled the bird feeders with seeds and peanuts. The mosquitoes were terrible, but I sprayed myself down and took my camera outside for about an hour. I was taking the normal pictures of birds this morning when 5 little birds landed on the wire. I had never seen them before and had to post a photo to the Tropical Audubon Bird Board Facebook page to ask if anyone knew what they were. Turns out they are called Scaly-Breasted Munias!
I tried to catch some birds in flight. They aren't great, but I'll keep practicing. Enjoyed watching the Bluejays chasing peanuts and the cardinal enjoying fresh seeds from the feeder. The Catbird stopped by briefly and so did the Mockingbird.
