Spotted this tiny American Redstart up in our huge tree out front this morning. What drew me outside was the sound of the Red-Bellied Woodpecker, but then I noticed this little guy fluttering about. These birds are in the family of Wood-Warblers, and apparently they are common to see in spring and fall. This is the only decent photo I could get of it. He didn't sit still for a minute and my neck is actually sore from looking up to find it as it flew from branch to branch. I re-filled the feeder and peanuts and had the usual suspects fly in. My other excitement was seeing this Downy Woodpecker land on a tree nearby to where I was sitting in the backyard. Pretty exciting morning! Enjoy!
