I made a return trip to Fairchild Tropical Gardens today. It was in the mid 80's today with a feel like temperature of 92! I probably looked ridiculous, but I wore my new UV sun hat and my long sleeve sun protection "cooling" shirt. Jury is out on the cooling part, but I didn't get sunburned today. So today I decided to look for different things to photograph and I think I came up with a nice variety for you. Of course I spent lots of time with my lily ponds, sorry not sorry. I absolutely love to photograph them. I shot over 300 images today, but narrowed it down to about 39. Definitely visit the gallery, as below are just some of my favorites.
One of the first things I came upon was an Egyptian Goose. I was perfectly happy to be taking pictures of her and then 2 Goslings came out of the brush! I was lucky enough to run into them again later in the day. Here are a few favorites.
I ran into my fair share of iguanas and lizards and also visited the Wings of the Tropics butterfly exhibit. With Covid protocols, it's just one way through the exhibit, so I photographed what I could. I was lucky enough to also find a female Zebra Finch with a beautiful background. Sadly, I overheard someone saying she is the only Finch left in the exhibit. I'm not really sure what happened to the others.
Now it wouldn't be a trip to Fairchild if I didn't take tons of photos of lily flowers, orchids and other flowers throughout the garden. I think you will agree it was a very colorful day.
