Have you ever seen a sleeping squirrel? I mean, I guess they do rest and sleep, but this one was doing it right out in the open. Several minutes later, however, it was back running around with the others. Very late in the day I heard the woodpeckers in our front tree, which I can see well from the backyard. These are not the greatest photos, but more about showing proof that they do exist! Our front tree is gigantic and they are very hard to track and shoot. One is a Red-Bellied Woodpecker and the black and white one is a Downy Woodpecker.  More Backyard Activity Gallery
