Woke to 59 degrees on this beautiful first day of spring in South Florida! We had planned on another motorcycle ride down to the Keys, but we weren't sure where we were going to eat lunch until last night. We knew that we wanted to go a little further into Key Largo, so we decided on a place called Key Largo Fisheries. I highly recommend the food here and it definitely lived up to all the rave reviews online. Steve had Mahi Tacos and I had a delicious Florida Lobster Roll.
Had fun photographing the pelicans here and after lunch, we walked around to check out the area around the dock. I love all the colors and textures of the fishing traps and nautical items laying around.
From here we stopped at Sundowners, as we wanted to check it out and perhaps eat here soon. Found some more pelicans and a lot of water activity going on. The scenery showcases the gorgeous weather we have here today. In the horizon you will see what looks like a low gray cloud, but I assure you that it was not. Currently there is wildfire activity around Long Pine Key in Everglades National Park. It was really something to see as we headed back on the motorcycle towards Florida City. I would have loved to have taken a picture of it, but I was too busy holding on to Steve for dear life. Thankfully, we only smelled the smoke briefly and got past it. Today we rode 101 miles. Pushing it a little further each trip. Hope you enjoy the photos. Gallery link at the bottom.
