This beautiful Mockingbird was sitting on the fence today and allowed me to take several photos before flying off. Since males and females look alike, I don't know its gender. By the look of that first photo though, it might not have been too happy I stumbled across its path.
The Mockingbird was adopted as the official state bird of Florida on April 23, 1927 by Florida Senate Concurrent Resolution No. 3. Not only a Florida favorite, it is also the state bird of Arkansas, Mississippi, Tennessee, and Texas.
