A Morning at Fairchild

February 15, 2016  •  Leave a Comment

I was lucky enough to have President's Day off and I was long overdue for a photography outing, so I packed my gear and spent a few hours at Fairchild Tropical Gardens. It was very windy and overcast, but it worked out quite nicely. I had the place all to myself and was able to capture a nice variety of flowers, butterflies and birds. I also captured a lot of colors, patterns and textures.

You all know that I have a passion for lily ponds and lily flowers, but today there was only one bloom in the entire garden and it just so happens that It is my favorite shot of the day.

The butterflies apparently don't like the cooler weather. In the hopes of finding sun and warmth, most were sitting still and for longer periods of time. I was able to capture several varieties and didn't lose my patience in the process. I promise that you will not be bored by all the different things that I captured today. Every time I visit Fairchild, I see something in a new or different way.
